| cricznews

A three-match ODI series in the ICC Women’s Cricket took place in Australia when India’s women’s team toured there in December 2024. It wasn’t easy for India, as Australia managed to win all the contests in the series. Main points were:

India could only make 100 runs in the first ODI, as Megan Schutt took five wickets. Australia easily overtook the score, with Georgia Voll leading the way with an unbeaten 46.

In the second ODI, the Australian bowlers restricted India to 276 despite Ellyse Perry hitting 105 and Georgia Voll making her first ODI century. Richa Ghosh contributed a great 54 for India, but it was not enough.

Annabel Sutherland made 110 runs to lift Australia to 298 in the 3rd ODI. Smriti Mandhana was the only player to resist as India were all out for 215. Sutherland won the award as Player of the Series.

Top Performers of Women’s Cricket:

Georgia Voll finished on 173 runs, Megan Schutt collected 8 wickets and Annabel Sutherland was named Player of the Series for Australia.

For India, it was Smriti Mandhana’s 122 runs and 4 wickets each from Arundhati Reddy and Renuka Singh Thakur.

2026 will see the All-Format Tour after a break from Championships-only events.

The Indian Women’s Cricket has a busy tour to Australia from February 15 to March 9, 2026, including games in every format. You can find the following timeframes in the schedule:

Three T20Is:

The Sydney Cricket Ground will host the match on Feb 15.

Canberra’s Manuka Oval is the host stadium on Feb 19.

Adelaide Oval will be located in Adelaide on Feb 21.

Three ODIs:

Feb 24 will take place at Allan Border Field in Brisbane.

Australia will play New Zealand at Bellerive Oval, Hobart on February 27.

On March 1, the trip will take place at the CitiPower Centre in Melbourne.

Main points that make a difference

Mandhana was the strongest link in India’s middle order in the ODI series, as the other batters struggled for consistency.

Renuka Singh Thakur and Arundhati Reddy improved a lot, but making big breaks when needed is still a challenge.
